But I’m sure I’ve strained some friendships" - You can't please everyone in that position. In fact, the Presidency could be likened to a lose-lose situation (in terms of maintaining friendships). You make a mistake, people will get mad at you. Make a right (or a just) desicion, and there will still be people who will get mad at you. “I don’t think I’ve lost any friends.
