How can we possibly take this SOB seriously when he talks about equality and rights when he himself authorizes the persecution of Homosexuals in his own country, when he oppresses the of women in his own country , denies freedom of the press and I could go on and on . But the point is that Ahmadinejad has on several occasions glorified the Holocaust and called for the annihilation of Israel. He cites American support for Israel, well atleast we have the balls to be open about it when we support Israel’s right to exist. On the other hand Middle Eastern and Arab powers covertly finance palestinian militia’s and dont even admit. It’s very well for them to call on Israel to treat Palestinian people humanely ( which it does in compliance with the Geneva Convention) when in their countries they refuse to acknowledge the fundamental liberties of their populace e.g. freedom of speech, expression, and freedom of the media. These countries are intolerant and they persecute anyone for being different. Atleast we embrace all humans as equals and not hold a bias against an individual for being different.

Ahmadinehad gave an important critique of Western treatment of the rest of the world over the last century. Of course, he omitted all the good parts; he wasn’t writing history but making a political argument. That argument is fundamental – that the history of the last century is essentially the history of Western exploitation. The only people who thought 9/11 came “out of the blue” are people who do not know history. It is extremely important that the West respond to this critique with sympathy and thoughtfullness. We in the West cannot “disprove” it. It is far too close to the truth for that. But we can discuss it, point out its incompleteness, and show that we have the decency to rise above an embarrassing past. The boorish behavior of our Western diplomats at Durban (I certainly will not call them “leaders”) did the whole world real harm.

He spoke the truth . He said what every Arab dreams to say out loud. But what did the West say about him ???

“We commend France and other European nations for walking out in protest.”

23 EU countries walked out on him. Why didn’t the EU or UN show this kind of solidarity when Israelis were bombarding schools, hospitals and children killing and destroying thousands?
