What are they chantiing?
Amy,
In the 1st email, the slogans are pro Moussavi and in the 2nd mainly against the "coup d'etat government" (Ahmadinejad).
What's amazing is the courage of these young people who in spite of the brutal repression and the tortures inflicted in jails, brave the security forces and should these slogans. It's difficult to see how the deepening and broadening chasm between the pro-IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guards) Ahmadinejad government and the mainstream can be bridged. Iran is not Myanmar and the regime can't really choke off the opposition without totally shuttling down the communications (cell phones, internet, etc.), which spell disaster for the still silent traditional merchant class ("bazari's").
Hamid
I thought it might be something along those lines... in the bottom video it sounded like "coup d'état", but wasn't sure if people in Iran use the same term we borrow from the French.
I only hope I would be so brave in such circumstances.
