Enduring America has a fondness for the intersection of football and politics. In the Iran crisis, we have hed the "Ahmadinejad 0, Tractor 1" video from last Saturday, the demonstrations at the Esteghlal-Persepolis Tehran derby match in October and at Azadi Stadium in August, the "black-and-white" game (to prevent any sight of Green), and of course the Green wristbands worn by some members of the Iran national team.
Now it's footage of an Iran match with Singapore. According to readers, Iranian state broadcasting had to cut the sound to block out the non-football, very political chants that arose in the stadium.
