I am not a huge Hillary fan but I think this is smart public diplomacy. I don’t know how many people in Iran the US can get the message out to, but it clearly puts the heat on the regime without opening the door to a charge of meddling. Whenever we can steer the focus to the human rights issue we should do so. The regime will point to our conduct of the wars we are involved in as a counter point, but it is difficult for them to answer the charges directly.

Extraordinary speech, very short, very simple, but expressive and convincing. I wished more female politicians all over the world would express these simple reasons for promoting women’s and girl’s rights.
    Chapeau!

  3. Publicola says:

    Respect !
