An Even More Scientific Update: Why Are There Non-Conservatives?

I know. In the face of Conservapedia's brilliance and truthiness, we should just pack up and go home. However, the latest addition to the discussion of "Why do Non-Conservatives Exist?", offered by one of Conservapedia's inner circle, deserves to be treasured for eternity:

It struck me that denial of Conservative principles could be a result of incipient or presenting mental illness. Just as it has been widely demonstrated that Liberal beliefs can lead to psychiatric conditions, so there might also be a reciprocal effect.

That explains what's happening in the Anglican church. A couple of my father's clergy colleagues had breakdowns. They were both feminists. One of them was his boss.

So, Dave, was your point that liberalism causes mental disorders, or that mental disorders cause liberalism? I'm not sure what you're trying to say, please explain it to me...

Well, I used the femnist example in my previous post. Even I have some liberal leanings, but being so one-sided on every issue is really going off the deep end.

"Widely demonstrated" by the experience of two individuals known to you through your father?

Yes, political ideologies which endow the believer with a sense of self-righteousness and infallibility can lead to psychiatric problems, this has definitely been demonstrated.

It was only tongue-in-cheek. Don't take it so seriously. But some things really do defy logic. Take the liberal Anglican Archbishop's favorable opinion of Sharia Law in the UK -- a dogmatic and retrograde creed that has gained support among liberals in the Government. Why do so many liberals support this when it discriminates against women, homosexuals and other groups? Why aren't liberals speaking out against it? The Archbishop supports gay rights AND Sharia! How is this possible?

I support gay rights, but I am not so sure about the homosexual lifestyle itself. Anal cancer risk among homosexuals increases by nearly 400%. Gay men die 24 years earlier than straight men, on average. Suicide rates are much higher. They make up 75% of HIV/AIDS cases in the US. Why do the liberals ignore this?

If we care about people and lives, then we need to think about how we can overcome these problems. I don't think Sharia institutions are the answer, because again - I support gay rights. Take a look at the human rights records of the countries that have it! Gays don't have equal rights there. As for the health crisis - future advances in medical technology may help to overcome the crisis, but the current situation is dire. It almost seems as if liberals are trying to kill them off! Dare I say that the c word (chastity) might be the answer...for now??
