The Bush Administration in a Word: Barneycam
Friday, December 19, 2008 at 15:52
Of all the blessings given to the world by the Bush Administration --- Afghanistan, Camp X-Ray, Torture, the handling of Katrina, the wishing away of climate change --- this may be the one that best sums up the legacy of Bush and Co. (Indeed, I understand the looped transmission of this video may be succeeding waterboarding as a favoured technique in Christmas Greetings to America's enemies/detainees/"unlawful combatants".)
President George, in one of his more lucid acting moments of recent times, tells Barney: "We're sprinting to the finish."
Not fast enough, son. Not fast enough.

the wishing away of climate change
---------
Bush-Barney duo scores on that one. There is no credible proof that man-made CO2 is a significant factor in driving climate change. We'll get a new set of blessings from Obama. He will use the global warming scare as a political tool to control the lives and incomes of the American people. Gore and Obama are liars.
"He will use the global warming scare as a political tool to control the lives and incomes of the American people."
How so?
Carbon tax, Big Brother monitoring thermostats and vehicle odometers. Technology (solar, wind, nuclear) will advance soon enough. Draconian measures are not necessary. They only increase the cost of living and limit our freedom of movement. What about the elderly? Some of them are comfortable with their thermostats set at 75 F. Think of the billions of lives that will be affected by this - especially the poor. That's why I think drilling for oil and natural gas until non-fossil fuel energy becomes cost effective is our best bet.
