EA on the Road: The Media and Iran Conference in London
Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 6:27
Mike Dunn and I will be attending the conference, "Covering Iran: The Role of Conventional and Non-Conventional Media" at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, today. It's quite exciting to be meeting and to speak on a panel with those who have ensured that the post-election crisis in Iran is covered fully and fairly.
Sharp-eyed EA readers will see the paradox that we'll be trying to bring you the latest from Iran while sitting in a room discussing how to bring people the latest from Iran. So updates may be limited today. As usual, however, we'll be counting on you to bring us your latest news and ideas.

Have a successful conference! If you can just put up a June 16 Iran Latest thread with one item to start, then we'll all have a place to post news and comments for today while you two are off making very important points in London ;-).
Here's something you can talk about today during the conference - and get some more signatures as well: Global Campaign: UNIVERSITY4IRAN
16 Nobel laureates and more than 300 professors and researchers from universities worldwide have joined the campaign titled University4Iran, an international mobilization against the violent repression that took place on university campuses from summer 2009 in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The campaign consists of an open letter addressed to the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Wow, Scott, how I would have loved to be there! That should be a very interesting conference. I would love to hear how it went and what was learned.
