I spoke with BBC World Service's
Newshour last night about President Obama, British Prime Minister Brown, and the presentation of bad news, especially in a time of economic crisis. Conclusion? Each, in his own way, is suited to the role he is playing publicly (and, yes, this is far different from when President Franklin Roosevelt was having "fireside chats" during the Depression).
The discussion is now on-line, about 20 minutes into the programme.
