High School Musical 3: All You Need to Know

Just went to see High School Musical 3 with my daughter.

Here is my review:

If only America (and the world) could be just like East High...

Thank you.

That's the best review i've ever read.

Yeah, innocent and fluffy. Too bad it's more like New Granada High -- http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ipf9Jm9Wckc

I agree. What a great place to live. Tolerance, respect, everyone is valued and they all have great clothes and hair! I wonder if Obama's girls are fans?

You seem to be specialising in the art of one-sentence film reviews, Scott.

I'm not sure I would want to live in a society where everyone and everything is respected, valued and tolerated. I don't know anything about High School Musical, but I think the outcome would be parents that do not know what they believe, and the only desire they have for their children is for them to be happy -- which is where we are heading. Better to have a society that adheres to moral absolutes, rejecting the idea that truth is relative. There must be both punishments and rewards for good and evil. Otherwise, there's no moral instinct, and 'values' would be the only thing to go by. Values go in and out of style with the changing attitudes of the members of society over time. There would be no moral reasoning. We would end up with a society of individuals possessing a bare minimum of social behavior that would be something like "I wouldn't do that to him, because he could do the same thing to me." What further moral ground of action could these teenagers take? They couldn't take any.

It does sound great on paper, Helen!
