URGENT UPDATE 1755 GMT: EA's Mr Smith may have solved the mystery in favour of a "true" meeting. He has discovered a set of photographs on the Fars News site of the official reception at the Presidential compound for the Senegalese President, who is dressed in the same fashion as in the photograph with the Supreme Leader. Khamenei's office is only two blocks from the Presidential compound.
UPDATE 1645 GMT: We're doing some checking to address the obvious question of whether this is a photograph from today. The Supreme Leader also met President Wade on 28 June 2006 and on 28 February 2008, discussing the issue of Western pressure on Iran's nuclear programme.
The Supreme Leader's official websites have posted a picture of Ayatollah Khamenei meeting with the President of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, and President Ahmadinejad today. The accompanying article expressed the Supreme Leader's satisfaction with "development of trade, industrial and economic links between the two countries". Khamenei also praised the Islamic Conference Organization, of which Senegal is currently the President, for its pursuit of the Palestinian issue.
The Islamic Republic News Agency's site has a space for the photograph but no picture. Fars News has a similar version of the story but curiously uses a photograph from the 2006 meeting.

If these turn out not to be recycled 06/09 photos, then Ahmadinejad's body language is very curious indeed (3rd shot in Tabnak http://www.tabnak.ir/fa/pages/?cid=68854).
Look at the relative size of SL's image in both photos compared to background and others' images. Photoshop?
My God, look at how DESPERATE we are to hope he is dead to say the image has been manipulated! :-) deep sigh.
What's that object that's in the exact same spot on the table in meetings years apart?
Shhh,
It looks like you have a point. You can draw 1) a line from the corner of the SL's chair to the top of Pres. Wade's head. 2) a line from the top of Pres. Wade's head perpendicular to the front edge of the photo. 3) the horizontal distance from the edge of the chair to the intersection at the front of the photo is about 2 chair widths or about 6 feet. The angle of the first line with the horizontal is about 45 degrees. The distance from the bottom front of the photo to the top of Pres. Wade's head would be about 6tan(45) or about 4.2 feet which is not possible.
Shhh, Doug - You guys nailed it. It's a fake. Or a miracle. Whatever. I just don't want this conversation to end.
For what ever reason, it appears some of these pictures were doctored. Question is why?

Jamshid, SL had a bad hair day, that's why.
I still say it is a conspiracy. I think we should get everybody to celebrate on the streets at noon on Sunday.
One thing about this rumor, which gives me great hope, everybody in Tehran was talking about it. I think it started on Michael Ledeen's blog or some publication out of israel. Boy how word spreads.
Power of the internet.
It gives me great pleasure and hope that the opponents of the Islamic Revolution are so desperate, gullible and naive that they will fall for any rumor about Govt. officials. This on the heels of the whole "AN is jewish" silliness.
My friends and I are very tempted to simply start crazy rumors just to see the anti-Govt. folks react like Pavlov's dogs.
Let's begin shall we?
I've just heard from a very confidential, very scholarly source (AN's cook) that President Ahmadinejad was trampled, TRAMPLED! this afternoon by a crazy camel which weighed approximately 1500 pounds. As you can imagine it was not a pretty picture. The govt. is keeping this top secret until Jafari can complete his coup and take over as the new President.
My source who is also an amateur historian believes that this will be known in the future history books as "The Battle of the Camel, Part II". (For those of you who know a bit about Shiite history).
Samuel-
Relax. We're just having a little fun.
Samuel,
Nice try, but your script has one problem. Cockroach scurvies a 1500-pound camel. Cockroaches even survive nuclear detonation. That explains AhmadiNejad’s determined to get the Nuke. He wants to be all alone when he greets the so-called 12th Imam, the one who is hiding in a cave somewhere and is giving Ahmadi his marching order.
On a serious note, I am worried about you. How you will mange when your Agha is gone? You know he will be going soon, right?
