An EA WorldView Request of Its Readers
Help us toward an even bigger 4th Birthday by donating to EA today
With 2011 rapidly coming to a close, we realised that we have been so busy with daily news and analysis that we forgot to celebrate EA's 3rd birthday!
We ventured into the cyber-world on 3 November 2008, live-blogging the election of President Obama the following evening and quickly looking towards the big stories in US foreign policy. Soon, however, we were shifting our attention --- because we saw a need for day-to-day reporting and interpretation of vital international developments --- to coverage of Iran, North Africa, and the Middle East as well as keeping an eye on long-standing arenas for US policy and military action such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.
From that 2008 election, through the tumultuous events of the Green Movement in Iran, the Arab Spring, and the death of Muammar Gadaffi to this week's in-depth coverage of events in Iran, Bahrain, Syria, Egypt, Afghanistan, and Beyond, EA Worldview’s all-volunteer team has tried to bring part of the globe to you each day, often breaking news far in advance of more traditional media. We hope to do even more in the next year: our birthday wish list includes expansion of coverage to areas such as China and Latin America.
And, if the year is very good, you may be seeing a New Look EA at age 4, with a re-design that does justice to new software allowing to be even quicker and more incisive in delivery of the news.
If you can, help us celebrate with a donation towards the "present" of that coverage. You can do so via PayPal by clicking the button below. If you can’t use PayPal, drop us a line and we can arrange an alternate method.
Best, if belated, birthday wishes to all our writers, commentators, contributors on "new" media, and readers for their continued support. We would not be blowing out the candles (and lighting them back up) except for you. We wish you all a very Happy Holiday season and send our very best hopes for a more open, more free and more democratic 2012.
The EA WorldView Team
